No More Heroes 2: Kitty Taibo

Platform: Wii
Director: Suda 51
Publisher: Ubisoft

Everyone's favorite Otaku Travis Touchdown is back for another gory round of killing his way back to the top of the assassin ranks to number one. This time he's doing it out of revenge for the murder of best friend Bishop (who ran the local video game rental store) by the current number one assassin and to stop this crazy tournament once and for all. The story doesn't go into detail about what's happened to Travis, but three years has passed since the last No More Heroes and Travis has gotten weary of Sylvia (she runs the tournament) and the assassin organization. The story is still going to be a confusing fluff fest, but Suda 51 always manages to make it entertaining. No More Heroes is about blood, kicking ass, and playing exercise mini games with your pet cat Jeane. So cute! Yeah, you heard me right.

You haz too many cheezeburgers.

Bayonetta Blows... no not literally.

This game is what Devil May Cry 4 should have been. Well maybe not, I don't know how gamers would react to Dante spread eagle, doing a hand stand, with guns strapped to his feet, while shooting a bunch of floating cupid heads. It feels so much like Devil May Cry, even the over cheesy dialogue. I remember playing Devil May Cry 3, during it's first scene thinking "Wow people actually like this character? I can't even describe how stupid of a character he is, and what little effort they made to make him seem like a real person". Bayonetta is the same way, from the get go her personality is over-the-top STOOOOOOOPID.

Heavy Rain PS3: First Impressions

I'm just getting my grubby hands on Heavy Rain for the PS3 for the first time. I have been personally avoiding any media about the game to come at it fresh without any expectations. All I do know is that your trying to catch a serial killer called the Origami killer and you play as 4 different characters in a psychological thriller type story line. Well that's at least what the Gamefly game description has told me.

So the term play here is where I'm going to focus on right away. Within the first 5 minutes of the game (while waiting for game to install you get instructed to, you guessed it make Origami) its pretty clear that this game is a little different. You begin by waking up in bed on a bright sunny morning as a male character and your instructed to push up on the right analog stick to get out of bed. Right off I noticed that this guy got quite thebulge going on in his underpants. Your then quickly prompted to test how fast to get out of bed by pushing the right analog stick at your desired speed. The character will react according to your input. Then your instructed to walk around by holding down the R2 button and face the direction your walking with the left analog. A little different sure, but fine none the less. So now what? Oh yeah you need to listen to your characters thoughts to hear what they are thinking. I'm instructed to take a shower. Cool, sure I'll do that. As I start searching for the bathroom more boxes with directional arrows appear on objects in the room and as I explore the rest of the house I'm in. I check out the bird in it's cage chirping in the morning sunlight. Speaking of light the game sports some nice lighting effects and graphics. Finally I see a toilet and enter to take a leak, once I'm done watching the character take a leak I leavepromptly, but wait I forgot to flush the toilet. So I go back and flush. Phew close call, don't want to make the wife mad. Good things she's picking up the kids later.

Next I enter the bathroom where the shower is and instead of taking a shower I check out the counter space and decide to brush my teeth. To my surprise they are using the six axis for maximum immersion action, joy (ugh). Then I decided to have a shave and now need to master once again pushing the analog stick at the correct speed. Too fast now kids and your going to get a bad shave. So I have to re-shave a few spots I missed. Silly me, I must be tired this morning.

Finally the moment has come. I get to the shower and whoom! Off comes the underwear. My ass looks better than I remembered and it puts a smile on my face. Damn I look good. So I watch my new avatar take a shower, get a couple more looks at that perfect ass and dry off with some good ol' six axis controller shaking.

I must say so far this is an interesting game indeed and have no idea what angle this game is going to take, but with so much detail with the mundane nuances of life incorporated, I'm mildly intrigued. I feel like I'm part of some voyeuristic puppet side show or something. I'm not so sure about the gameplay mechanics I've see so far and how they'll be applied to the rest of the game. I'll report back soon. But now I think its time for my character to take another shower.

Review — The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces

Platform: Wii
Developer: Project Aces
Publisher: XSeed

Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces for the Wii is an Aerial Combat Game developed by the Ace Combat series team Project Aces. These guys have been rockin' the genre and have done it the best on consoles for a long time now. Good thing for the Wii since it has an incredibly small list of flight games in it's library. If your in the market for this type of game then your not going find a better one in price or content than this. The game is only $29.99, so get off your ass and go buy it! Don't let the price fool you into thinking this is a bad game by any means. It's more than worth the price. For those of you that have stayed here to find out more. Let me fill you in some more at what your going to get for your money.

Holy crap a new Blaster Master Game.

Hey it's me again, your resident Nintendo dork here to let you guys know that from out of nowhere Sunsoft has released a new Blaster Master game titled "Blaster Master: Overdrive" for WiiWare (the peasants rejoice). It's not a remake, but a whole new game based on one of my favorite and insanely difficult childhood NES games. Nintendo just recently released the original Blaster Master on the Virtual Console back in December and there seems to be a trend recently where once a classic game gets released on VC then something totally new ends up appearing down the line. Pilotwings for the SNES was just released on the Virtual Console as well; could a new Pilotwings be far away?
0_o *head explodes.

I've posted a video and a link to the official announcement about the new release by Sunsoft. It almost seems like they didn't even know it was coming out, since they announced this last Friday and it's here now ready to download. It's $10 for admission for this wonderful surprise. Happy Gaming.

Intial Thoughts: Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom Ulitmate All-Stars

Den and I just picked up copies of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom for Wii and spent an evening drinking booze and beating the crap out of each other with rainbow Yoyo's, giant robots and Hadoukens. So far playing this sparkling gem from Japan has been a pretty good time. Originally it wasn't thought that the game with it's cast of characters weren't going make it over to our neck of the woods, but here it is in all its over the top glory. Thank you Capcom.

Half of the games set of characters are from the famed Japanese Animation Company Tatsunoko who created many Anime series starting back way back before many of use were born. So more likely than not your not going to recognize many of them. The other half of course reign from Capcom's library of characters beyond just the Street Fighter realm. All in all its quite the mix of characters and for me it's been refreshing to play a fighting game with characters I know nothing about. It makes the battles much more interesting when your playing with new characters and seeing something unexpected.

The basic of the games combat consist of 3 buttons for Strong, Medium, and Light attacks. Its makes the game a little easier to get right into the thick of it and do some amazing attacks. You might be fooled into thinking the game is a button masher but as I was playing the game I began to notice that the game has some hidden depth to it. Expert players are going to have a field day mastering all the different characters in the game.

Den and I spent most of our time doing some online battling and it worked without a hitch. I noticed no lag in our friend matches. I also tried out some ranked online battles and so far I only had one battle with a little lag in the beginning of the match then it was fine after that.

So far Tasunoko Vs. Capcom has been a pretty entertaining ride. If your interested in seeing a unique fighter, then we think its well worth your time.

Muscle March: Busting walls and balls all the way from Japan.

So today I got home from work and my Wii was glowing with that warm inviting blue light, letting me know I have received something special in my inbox. Oh boy did I get something special today. Muscle March for WiiWare. Den, who works with me at Who Burned My Toast was kind enough to gift me this game from the WiiShop Channel for $5. Isn't he such a thoughtful guy?

If you couldn't already tell this game involves Body Builders and a Polar Bear scantily dressed in Speedos. Why you ask? Cause weird people are stealing these poor manly mans protein powder and you need to race through various environments smashing through walls and wiggling your ass to catch them. I think the gameplay will all make sense if you just watch the video below.

I saw the Japanese version of this game on youtube awhile back and never thought in a million years it would be localized and brought to the states. It's just the most way out there and hilarious game I have ever laid my eyes upon. It's a novelty game for sure and worth a good laugh when I have friends over for drinks. This game just makes you wonder WTF is up with Japan? Watch your back Den.

REVIEW — Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Plat: DS
Dev: Alpha Dream
Pub: Nintendo

I know, I know, I have been sitting on this game for awhile now. When I finally do get around to playing RPGs I prefer to take me sweet ass time and enjoy them wholeheartedly. Nintendo & Alpha Dream once again have delivered a fun little Mario & Luigi RPG game on the DS that delivers solid & familiar gameplay with a truly humorous story. Where this game mixes it up a bit is that you're going to be spending most of your time playing as big bad Bowser, as well as inside him.

Assassin's Creed 2

Plat: PS3, 360, PC
Dev: Ubisoft Montreal
Pub: Ubisoft

The story takes place in the year 2012 (the world didn't end!? or did it). In this game (and the first) the protagonist's name is Desmond Miles. In the first game Desmond is captured by a pharmaceutical company who have a machine called the "Animus" -- a chair with the capability of allowing a person to relive the experiences of an ancestor. They then force big D to enter into the mind of a very peculiar man. This man's name was Altaïr ibn La-Ahad, a member of a clan of Assassins. The entirety of the first game takes place in the holy land, during the 3rd Crusade in 1191 AD (or CE if you will).

PopoloCrois

When my good friend Bobby let me borrow this originally, let me think... *flash back to 2005* I had an Afro, an was wearing plaid... no wait different flash back. Anyway when he first let me borrow it, I only played about 5 minutes of it before I got involved in something else, and I soon forgot all about it. Last week he again let me borrow it, under the condition that I actually play it this time lol.

Well now that I've been playing it, I have no idea why I wasn't so keen on playing it before. Sure some of it's game play is dated at best, like the turn based system of the old RPG's. however, they do mix things up a bit with some other fun elements:
